Children of Cimmeria is a wilderness of confusion and transcendence. The duo of Zack Kouns and Rick Weaver expands to include many special guests, with Havadine Stone, Ilyse Krivel, Fire-Toolz, Morgan Garrett, Caleb Miller, Jeremy Harris, and Nadejda all contributing to the brilliant destruction. Kouns’ lyrics filter the brutality of the natural world through a psychedelic screen, and the layers of fucked, mismatched sound add further refractions. Spirits with no messages to impart appear in waking visions, the blood of the dead is washed off of in a creek, decay and rebirth happen at once, the terror of freedom is everywhere.
